Promotional
Responsibilities for Artists & Bands
What
can I say besides - don't not do this stuff. Please.
- Please
send print promotions (flyers, posters, etc.) to:
QueenCityMusic.com
Promotions
3025 Hudson Street
Charlotte, NC 28205
ATTN: POSTERS
- If
you are traveling from close enough proximity to do this, come play
some of our open mics to promote your show. The Tosco
House Party usually packs the place, and may be a great resource
for you to grow your fanbase. There are also any number of open
mics at other venues in town you can play. The
Find Your
Muse Open Mic is a really fun weekly open mic hosted by Eric-Scott
Guthrie.
- Please
send your press kit and all of your promotional information to the contacts
listed at: http://www.QueenCityMusic.com/press.htm
Try to identify who may be the most relevant, but one never knows who
else might come through on this list.
- It's
also a good idea to follow-up with a phone call to chat with some of
the media folks. They
are truly nice people, though undoubtedly busy. Please respect the value
of their time.
- E-mail
your fanbase. If possible, take time to write an e-mail specifically
promoting your show with us and asking your fans to let anyone they
know in our region about the show. Fans in New York may have friends
in Davidson
who they'll send out to the show.
- Please
send us a promo description
and small digital image to include in our e-mail to our members and
subscribers in the MuseLetter. One to two weeks in advance of your performance
date is a good lead time.
- Whenever
possible, bands and artists need to distribute handbills and post flyers
around town two weeks prior to the show.
